Dorsett Golden Apple
Outstanding sweet apple for warm winter areas. Firm, very flavorful, sweet like Golden Delicious. Productive throughout So.CA and Phoenix, AZ. Good early season sweet apple for Central CA. 100 hours. Self-fruitful. USDA Zones 5-10.
Mollie's Delicious Apple
A favorite Red Delicious type apple for mild winter climates in Southern CA. and the San Francisco Bay Area. Sweet, flavorful, aromatic. Red blush over yellow. 400-500 hours. Pollenizer required: Fuji, Granny Smith, Beverly Hills. USDA Zones 5-8.
Katy Apricot
Large, all-purpose, flavorful freestone. Tree ripe fruit is subacid (not tart). A favorite apricot for warm-winter climates. Early harvest, 3-4 weeks before Blenheim (Royal). 200 to 300 hours. Self-fruitful. USDA Zones 7-9. (Zaiger)
Bonanza Miniature Peach
Popular yellow freestone. Large fruit is sweet, low in acid, with a mild, refreshing flavor. Mid to late June in Central CA, earlier in low desert climates. 5-6 ft. tree. Chilling requirement very low, 250 hours or less. Self-fruitful.
Desert Gold Peach
Very early ripening: May in Southern Calif./Arizona. Tree-ripened fruit has good flavor and sweetness for such an early variety. Yellow clingstone. Heavy bearing. 200 hours or less. Self-fruitful.
Krauter Vesuvius Flowering Plum
Prunus cerasifera 'Krauter Vesuvius'
Dark purple leaves, light pink blossoms, little or no fruit. Relatively small tree, 18 ft. high by 12 ft. wide. Favorite purple leaf plum for California. Foliage of newly planted trees sometimes greenish until vigorous growth begins. Traditional K.V. form: 30" trunk.

Fraxinus velutina 'Bonita'
Fast growing shade tree. Broad canopy. Good performer in the desert Southwest. Long lasting yellow fall color. Size to 35 ft. x 35 ft. USDA zone 6.

Deciduous in cold climates, evergreen elsewhere. Very fast growth to 50 ft. Long arching/weeping limbs, tree wider than tall. Virtually pest/disease-free. Sunset Zones 8-9, 12-24.
Fruitless Mulberry
Morus alba 'Fruitless'
Fast-growing, to 40 by 50 ft., dense shade. Tolerates summer heat, alkaline soil. Drought tolerant, but best with ample water and feeding. Not necessary to prune back to trunk each winter. All zones.
